Our Easter Celebration

We woke up to find the Easter bunny had left us all a little treat. Jansen was sick, but still got excited about the candy in his basket. S, K2 and I went to church and K1 stayed home with J and tried to get some rest.

After church, we went to my in-laws and found that the Easter bunny had hidden eggs for us there and also had small baskets for us all. We had a great dinner and celebrated pop's, greg's and mel's birthdays. It is always nice to visit with family...although their is yelling and crying all around.
Although my kids love the treats and to find eggs, I am very proud that they remember the true meaning of Easter. Kohl told us that it is about the empty tomb and Sierra said it is about Jesus dying on the cross. So there is not much details but I think they get the idea.
Our family hopes you all had a wonderful day.

Lunch......

So my kids love lunch, but they always want the same thing..peanut butter and honey sandwich. So I decided to let them pick a few items from the pantry and create there own sandwich. Here is what they came up with; peanut butter, jelly, honey, raisins, chocolate chips and marshmellows. K2 put everything inside and S only did pb&h inside and made a face with the other items. Although, I would not eat this, they enjoyed being creative and eating their creation....now if this would only work with vegetables.

HAPPY SAINT PARTRICK'S DAY

Our house was invaded by the "Magic Leprechaun". The kids woke up to find he or she had left us some things to wear and some of their favorite cereal. We all our green on and enjoyed the great cereal we were left. So thank you to the Leprechaun who helped start our day of green off right.

We know Easter is right around the corner, but don't forget this fun day. Have a great one.

The cupcake challenge

A lady in my neighborhood,(translation..a very smart and beautiful friend) is challenging everyone to go green and to make changes in how they do things. She is also giving away a cupcake recipe book. So this post is dedicated to that challenge and my extreme love for cupcakes.

I promise to turn the water off when I brush my teeth.
I promise to take shorter showers.
I promise to do better at recycling.

My family has already made some changes in our home. At the begining of winter we adjusted the thermosat in our home and also turned our water heater from high to medium. I also changed the setting on our dishwasher, so it will wash in warm water instead of hot and it is set for air dry instead of heat.

I know their is alot more we can do and I hope to continue to make changes. Thanks Kami for the challenge.

To the one I love

Eight years, three kids, 2 houses, lots of trials and lots of joy. This is what I get for finding a wonderful man that wanted to spend eternity with me, despite my faults.

We met in August of 1999, got engaged in November of 1999 and married on March 10th 2000. I was 29 and K1 was 31, he was the first to get married in his family and I was the 4th. My brother got married 2 weeks before I did, my parents weren't stressed but glad to get 2 more kids married off. (they have 9)

When I moved to Utah in June of 1999, my sister and I had a conversation once about the type of guy I wanted to marry. I told her: tall, olive skin, athletic, loves the arts. She told me keep dreaming. Well, I did find all that in K1. Why the olive skin and tallness, you my ask. I come from a line of short and very pale people, I wanted my kids to have a chance at being tall and tan. Silly, I know but it just might work.

K1 is a great husband, father, son, and brother. He is always willing to help with house work (without being asked) and enjoys playing with the kids. So I hope we get at least 8 more years and maybe 1 more kid.

So on this day, I say thank you honey for seeing beyond my good looks and talents and making me your wife. hee hee...I love you

Happy Be-lated Birthday....

So I am a bad mom. What's new! K2 had a birthday on Jan. 25th. K1 and I were on our cruise, so we celebrated with him before we left.
K2 is 4 years old and full of life. He is an early bird and loves to ride his bike. He is such a joy in our home and keeps us very busy.
S had her birthday on Feb. 10th. She is 6 years old and all girl. She, her friend and 2 cousins went to dinner and had a sleep over. Of course her brother wanted to be encluded in everything. S is very creative. She writes stories and makes up songs, love to paint and mold clay. She is a great reader and loves to help with cleaning and cooking.
I am so proud to be their mom and glad to have them in my life. So Happy Birthday S and K2.

If Jack Sparrow had a son...

would he look like this?

I would like to think that he is a little cuter than Jack Sparrow, but aren't most kids cuter than their parents.

Similarities;

  1. They both wobble when they walk
  2. They are both hard to understand at times
  3. They both love the bottle (and wonder why it is always gone)
  4. They both love the ladies and the ladies love them

With all this in common it is hard to dispute, he just might be a little Jack Sparrow. Well, at least he is my Jack Sparrow.
